La sandalia Huarache de Anya

I like my new huarache sandals from Origo very much! The color is not quite as pale as indicated in the photograph, but I like the real color better. Style is graceful and attractive, which often is not the case with foot healthy shoes… and they are most importantly, comfortable and seem to be well-made. I like that they are a traditionally handmade style. Putting them on for the first few times was interesting to me, because the strap that goes across the front of the ankle has a “V” shape to it, and in order for the shoe to fit properly, you have to slide the strap so that the “V” is centered in the slot that the strap fits in. I realized when I first did it that this is not something we encounter in regular mass-produced footwear… but it obviously works. I appreciate the intelligence of the design. I intend to take good care of them, and hope they last a long time!

Are they comfortable? YES. It’s ridiculous.

This is my first time trying minimalist shoes, but it didn’t take long for my feet and posture to adapt. I fell in love right away. So far, I’ve walked in them around Los Angeles, Palm Springs and the beach. They are great.

I wasn’t sure which size to order but ended up ordering a size 9 (after measuring, my foot is 26cm in length). They fit perfectly. My heel ends just flush with the end of the sole, I don’t know if that’s how it should be, but it hasn’t bothered me. Leather stretches over time and I already have room in the toe box.

Another important point: they look incredible!! I get compliments on them all the time. I thought white would get dirty pretty quickly but I’ve had them for four months and they still look brand new. They are super versatile, and can be dressed up or down.

Get yourself a pair of these, you won’t regret it!!

If you’re a millennial like me, you likely wore a sandal that looked a lot like these as a little kid. And again, if you’re like me, then you may have some memories of your leather sandals pinching or rubbing. Let me just be super clear, these are not the huaraches of our childhood. I figured these sandals would have a break in period, but no. Straight out of the box they have been insanely comfortable. I easily wear them all day in all kinds of situations without even thinking about it. I even once wore them in a 5k walking race at work after getting my dates mixed up. As we gathered at the starting line, my coworkers noticed my seemingly odd footwear choice and chided me a bit. But they weren’t an issue at all! I made great time and finished the race just as well as I would have in sneakers.

If you’re on the fence about whether or not to get a pair, just do. They’re a super versatile sandal and are great quality. Mine look nearly the same as they did a year ago and I wear them frequently.

I wanted something stylish that I could wear with everything this summer and the Huarache are the perfect definition of your dream sandals. They are beautifully crafted, which ups any outfit you pick. The color is perfect for my palette and wardrobe. But most importantly, I can wear them all day long and never feel pain! I have been working them at work for my 11h shifts, I took them on a yoga retreat and on holiday where I've walked and walked to visit places with so many different grounds and landscapes. My feet feel securely fitted, they can keep up all day and night. The sole is thin enough so you can feel what's underneath but still protects you just how you need it. All toes are comfortable and have room, even on the hotter days when my feet swelled! I would recommend the Huarache whether you're a new Barefoot member or an experienced barefoot walker!
