In our latest collaboration with Anya’s Reviews, we introduce the Woven Ballerina—a striking barefoot flat, handwoven by skilled Mexican artisans.


Each pair carries the story of hours of expert craftsmanship: vegetable-tanned leather is
carefully stripped, softened, and woven by hand to create a distinctive, textured design that stands out.


The Woven Ballerina offers a fit similar to our women’s huarache line. The flexible weave gently adapts to your foot’s shape, providing all-day comfort with the grounded feel of barefoot footwear.


Fits true to size for low to mid-volume feet (refer to Anya's blog here)

FEATURES

+ Vegetable-dyed, chrome-free natural leather

+ 3 mm natural rubber outsole, with texture for grip

+ Sole features an extra insole as part of the production process, resulting in a slightly more structured sole but still with all the comfort that the Origo by Anya’s reviews huaraches feature 

+ Please note that the vegetable-tanned leather used in our products is free of Chrome and may have slight color variations or darker spots. Expect a slight color patina as shoe is weathered

MATERIALS

+ Natural Leather: Sourced from local and environmentally-conscious tanneries, our natural leather is not only durable and breathable but also adapts to your foot's shape. We use chrome-free leather, dyed by hand using vegetables for color. As a result, the color is not even. Ages beautifully.


+ Natural Rubber: Utilized in our Huarache and New Derby soles, natural rubber provides flexibility, shock absorption, and excellent grip, even on wet surfaces.

SUSTAINABILITY + ETHICS

Ethical standards are at our core; our manufacturing prioritizes worker safety, above market wages, and humane treatment. We utilize small-batch production for efficient inventory management and waste reduction. Origo sources materials predominantly from North America and manufactures near our warehouse to minimize travel distances.  Our eco-conscious approach extends to packaging, utilizing garden-compostable materials and innovative kraft shippers. Each pair sold also supports Amazon reforestation through our partnership with One Tree Planted.

    Adorable

    These are so cute. I love the mesh - makes for a bit of an edgy look since it’s not a typical solid Mary Jane. Surprisingly comfortable, but then I’m used to zero drop shoes.

    So good.

    I had seen this style of shoe many times and always wrote it off since I didn't see anyone offering it in wide width. I snapped a pair up as soon as I saw these on Anya's blog. They are perfect. I love the style and they are incredibly comfortable. Thank you for offering wide widths!

    Beautiful shoes, thank you!!

    I love the champagne gold color, they are breathable and very comfortable leather. I am a size 10 in most shoes but sized down to a 9.5 in this style for a nice close fit without socks. The exchange process was easy and only took a couple of weeks. The back rubbed a little bit on my heel at first (after lots of walking) but is subsiding as the shoes mold to my feet. They are so comfortable honestly that I forget I have them on. I love wearing them with blue tapered linen pants, a cotton sweater and tan trench coat. Once I have room in the budget I would love to order them in black, as well!

    Origo is the only U.S brand I have found that actually offers fashion-forward barefoot shoes in feminine styles. I really like Shapen Barefoot’s styles but have not tried them since they do not accept returns from the U.S. I gave up flats and sandals many years ago due to foot issues until I discovered barefoot options. I am so thankful that Origo offers shoes that I can feel good in again, both physically and aesthetically :) :)

    Gorgeous, Comfy & Smell Amazing

    Just received my woven ballerina flats yesterday and already wearing them today for work. They have been comfortable right out of the box for me and I can't get over the incredible leather smell. I damaged my big toenail earlier this year and wanted a pair of warm weather shoes that could still provide some protection as my nail recovers - these woven ballerinas are perfect! This is my first pair of Origo shoes, but I don't think they will be my last.

    Love so many compliments

    I have loved these more than I thought I would. They quickly became super comfortable. They go with everything and have become the shoe I grab for everything. I have gotten so many compliments and people asking where I got them from. Would purchase multiple colors.

    The un-shoe shoe

    Like I’m not wearing shoes at all except my feet stay safe. The leather is super soft and flexible so my wide foot (10cm) is comfortable lightly pressing against the leather side. The gold color is soft like champagne, not gaudy nor too yellow, so they read as a neutral and they go with tons of outfits. I love this shoe so much I will be buying the brown color as well. I loved that there was no break in time and they actually fit my wide feet. So the measurements on the website are accurate.
